Lipper Tools come with a 26# or 60# scale which are calibrated in pounds (one pound increments) and in kilos.
Both Lipper Tool scales are certifiable by a qualified agency. We recommend the International Game Fish Association (IGFA).
Both Lipper Tools have a handle with a large barrel allowing for a firm grip of the non-skid rubber grip. Each tool has a
large adjustable lanyard, which should not be placed over your wrist. We recommend that the lanyard be placed around your
thumb and roll over the back of your hand allowing for a secure grip of your Lipperª Tool. In order to avoid injury do not
place the lanyard around your wrist.
Both Lipper Tools have an easy to use, cock and lock open landing jaws with a push button release (can be used left or right handed).
When your fish is ready to be landed, simply cock open the landing jaws and place same in the uppermost part of the fishÕs lower
lip, with your forefinger push the release button.
The Boga has a scissor jaw action; when their landing jaws are opened, they loose approximately half of their jaw depth
and are not as wide as Lipperª Tools.
Unlike any other brand tool, Lipper Tools feature a set screw. When landing a fish, loosen the set screw (open position) which will
allow the landing jaws to extend outward and turn 360 degrees. If your fish is ÒgreenÓ it can spin and thrash and the landing jaws can
turn freely with out twisting you hand/wrist. When your fish has calmed, the set screw will naturally go back to its normal resting
position, if not, a simple twist of your wrist to the right or left will accomplish same. Fish can be weighed when the set screw is
in the open position.
After you have weighed your fish, tighten (closed) the set screw and the landing jaws will remain secured, allowing total control
while removing hooks, taking photographs or reviving fish for release.
Every other brand tools landing jaws always free spin; provide minimal control; and allow your landed fish to spin in circles and
wrap/tangle your leader/line around its body. Lipperª Tools allow total control while removing hooks and enable you to present your
fish as you wish for photographs (no more developed photographs of your fishÕs belly or back).
Further, while reviving fish in a current or boat side, fish often roll on their side or spin in the water with all other brand tools.
With a Lipper Tool you can control your fish and keep it up right while reviving.
Lipper Tools come with a 26# or 60# scale which are calibrated in pounds and kilos. The LIP26 scale and the LIP60 scale is
calibrated in 1 pound increments.
Lipper Tools require minimal maintenance. Both Lipper Tools are constructed of premium 308 stainless steel, ABS plastic and
a non slip rubber grip handle. They are especially constructed to withstand a sandy, salt-water environment.
Simply rinse with fresh water and then dry. Spray your Lipper Tool with a good rust preventative lubricant, being certain to
cover all parts. Avoid storing your Lipperª Tools in a tight confinement or wet sheath. Lipper Tools are guaranteed against
all defects in material and workmanship for one year after purchase.
Due to the set screw feature, both Lipper Tools can also be used as a Òhook-outÓ. If your fish is hooked in the outer mouth or
lip area, simply hold your fishing line above the fish, close the landing jaws around the line and run the jaws down to the hook.
With a twist and shake of your wrist, your Lipperª Tool can be used as a "hook-out".
When we first received a Lipper we were impressed with the quality of the product & it just "felt right". The lipper was easy to
use while catching, photographing & releasing a wide variety of fish including Calico & Sand Bass, Halibut and even made hook removal on Barracuda
much easier without ever having to touch the fish.
