Post subject: 4-26 drag check N. HB

Tuesday morning was a big zero for me. Wednesday morning I checked a more northerly spot. I got hits on the first three casts and whammo.

I caught a few smaller versions and 1 BSP then hooked this guy.

I caught one of these a few months ago. I think it is a diamond turbot.

Moved to a new hole and every cast was a strike :D . I landed 1 YFC, 3BSP, 2 smaller shovels, and then my little Luna got tested :D

It taped at 45+ and look at the back on this thing. I tail hooked a 20 inch 'but on monday and thought it pulled drag  .

Go 6lb Fireline :D

I will be back out at daybreak 8)

Oh yea, all fish on 1/2 or 3/8 BC KM :D :D

WTG Steve!

That is one big SNGF!
I hooked a 4 footer in the back last year at Bolsa Chica and I wasn't sure I'd ever land it...
Nice mixed bag of fish...all on the KM huh? Looks like you have really mastered that little piece of metal. Aren't you supposed to be practicing with your fly-rod

WP
:D

Thanks WP, Sandab :D

Wow WP, you had quite a day too. :D :D

I'm learning. I have a way to go before I have your touch,WP.

I think that was the most variety I have caught on the KM. The SNGF liked a slower retrieve than the YFC. Back in the day, I fished for mud marlin at night with live smelt from the hb harbor and caught SNGF close to 5ft.

I caught 1 meager BSP the following day at the same hole. :?

Think of the long boat tow you would have gone on if you caught the 5 footer and were sitting down in a 'yak offshore !!!!!

That would have had a surfer dude like you either  or 8) depending on if you had a SNGF that dove down or stayed on the surface to play :!:
