Hi I am relatively new to surf fishing and was wondering if anyone has had any luck? I primarily use the El Porto area and have had mixed success.

Welcome to WCA!

I actually fish that area quite a bit and have had some pretty good success.

What are you fishing with & how are you rigging?

We usually do pretty good over there on YFC, Corbina, Halibut and Perch.

I have had the most success with a Carolina rig consisting of 3/4 oz. sliding sinker, 6# main line and a 6# flourocarbon leader and a #4 Owner Mosquito hook with about a 2" - 3" piece of the Berkely Gulp Camo Sandworm.

The majority of my hookups come on the slow retrieve.
