Welcome to WCA!

I know there are a few guys here that venture down that way but a lot of us are fishing in LA & OC.

It would be great to read some reports from someone in that area so I think you better go out & catch a few so you can brag about it to us

Once again, Welcome!

Hi ! I'm brand new to this forum. I have "lake" fished for years but now I'm all pumped to try some surf fishing ! Just went and bought a 12' pole and spinning reel and gonna fish the beaches soon. Is it too early in the year ? (Feb) for S. Calif ?

Welcome to WCA!

Where are you located?

You can pretty much fish yearround out here. You just need to be careful of the waves & the weather.

What are you fishing with? Type of rod? Line weight?

I agree, you can fish year around it just depends on the time of the year and the baits available. Otherwise you can catch some kind of fish at any time. As for surf fishing the big fish or SLABS usually bite in early Spring and the rest of the year they gradually get smaller and smaller until next Spring.

I have some pics to share, but do not see any where to post them. If possible, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Would live to see the pics.

As of right now I would suggest creating an account at myfishingpics.com for free to host your pics.

I have been working on some new things here and the new message board software will allow for you to upload pics with your post.

If you have any issues with myfishingpics.com send me a PM and I can help you out.
