Post subject: Santa Cruz surf fishing?
PostPosted: Sun May 25, 2008 5:38 pm
I am visiting Santa Cruz from south Texas. Brought one surf rod, just wondering what types of artificials to throw, what to target..... Any advice is much appreciated.

Welcome to the west coast and West Coast Angler.

When surf fishing my first go-to bait is the Berkely Gulp sandworms using a carolina rig.

I have never surf fished in that area so my knowledge is limited but the Gulp has always work on many species targeted from the surf.

Find a local tackle shop and get their input on what will work best for the area.

Please let us know how you do.
