T-Shoots, it's Colin from the fall October trip on the Rooster. Did you ever post the pics from our trip? The birds'nest/backlash pic is sweet!

No, because I am a dork. I meant to send them to David to post up but have had some turmoil here in my office that has taken my attention. I will get them sent out to David TODAY.

For the record Colin, it is not TShoots! It is TShooter... Get it right man or you will be cut off from all the Shooters on the next trip 8)

Just picked up my fish from Five Star and DAMN, that is a lot of fish.

Beautifully cut, packaged & frozen. My "Dahmer special" freezer is filled to the top and I still have 2 16qt coolers full.

Thanks to Sarah & her great crew over there. If you have never used Five Star you need to give them a try.

David,

looks like a good trip with a nice range of fish being caught.

I used five star after the five day this summer. It worked out fantastic. before the trip sarah and I talked about her processing my fish same day and then freezing it overnight so that i could take frozen fish on my flight as luggage. I turned in 165 lbs of YFT and yellowtail and they sent me home the next day with a box of really nice processed fish that weighed 49.5 pounds. it all arrived home in perfect frozen condition.

I have been enjoying it since.

I will not consider any other option in the future for processing.

I'll bet you will be eating good all winter now!

cheers
jerry

Hey Professor, What is this "Winter" thing you are talking about? It's been 70-80 degrees every day that I have been home  Damn I love So. Cal.

Glad Five Star took good care of you. As far as I am concerned they are the only real option down there.

Jerry, did they fillet that big clump of kelp you brought in also?

If anyone could fillet it up and package it nicely it would be 5 star.

So THAT'S how this is going to be HUH?

that was funny as h_ll wasn't it! at least i caught that one little mackeral on the jig so I did not get "jig skunked." You should give jeff a little grief for loaning me his "best kelp jig" that day. Who knew that kelp eat the blue/chrome candy bar...

I think i am going to go again in june 2011. several boats have 7 or 8 day trips then. I think one of those is sure to be the ticket for a WFO kelp "bite." this year is probably booked to full already with family stuff.

BTW I'm eating grilled yellowtail tonight in your honor,

cheers
jerry

the snow isn't so bad and I don't mind the cold but I sure as h_ll miss the sunshine!

I sure do love a sunny day to go ice fishing in the winter.
