I just moved into the area, and have a all weather capable boat.

Trout fishing has been excellent during the mornings, with many limits of Rainbow Trout coming out of Boat Dock Cove, Willow Cove, and along Senior Shoreline. Best Trout baits have been Power bait/Power worm combinations and nightcrawlers. Top Trout of the week goes to Frank Romero of Escondido, who landed a 5#12 Rainbow Trout on green Power bait off Senior Shoreline. Dennis Young of Valley hooked a 4#4 Trout on rainbow Power bait in Willow Cove. Steve Jones of Oceanside caught a 3#12 Trout on yellow Power bait in Oakvale Cove. The secret to successful Trout fishing in local waters is to use light tackle. Four-pound test line or less and #14 or smaller treble hooks are best when using bait for Rainbow Trout. Right now is the best Trout action of the year! So come on out and bring the family Wayne Cuddback of Escondido caught and released a 5#15 Bass using green Power bait off Senior Shoreline.
Wohlford’s water level is at an ideal level for this time of the year. The 2006 state fishing licenses are available now, so get yours soon before supplies run out!
